UDSMYKNING GSH

Decoration at GSH, Green Solution House, hotel, Rønne, Bornholm, 2020

In the entrance of GSH you’ll find two large art pieces made by Jo Dam Kærgaard.

She has created this great decoration exclusively for the GSH:

“FIG LEAVES COMPOSITION”,

consisting of print-paintings of hundreds of layers of leaves from the island’s famous fig tree: the “Bornholmerfigen”.

Furthermore, Jo Dam Kærgaard’s decorations at the GSH unfold across 33 rooms and two hallways, see below.

Jo Dam Kærgaard’s decorations at the GSH unfold across 33 rooms and two hallways and are based on original pieces by Jo Dam Kærgaard. They consist of a series of tapestry images made from sustainable, non-woven materials that are PVC-free as well as CV-certified. All images have been printed with biologically degradable colours.

“As a visual artist, you have the privilege of trying to transform your surroundings into art. The unpredictability of Bornholm is magical. The flora, the landscape, the sea and the horizon are all so present, so ever-changing that the same motif allows you to explore it time and again. The island seems like an infinity source of inspiration, which I am grateful to be in touch with in my daily life.”
